My First Storm

What do you do with a rainy day? When nothing but mud is thrown your way? And the fearful sounds of the unknown start to rumble?

 Jump in it-

 Feel it-

Taste it-

Experience it with someone who cares-

Learn from it-

And if you're wise, you may even find yourself in the company of a friend

...or two.  Who will remind you how to wag your tail again.

Then you clean yourself off,

Take a nap,

Start afresh,

And while you chew on it, look forward to the sunshine tomorrow will bring.

Because rainy days never last and the sun always follows the clouds.

Lots of licks, wags and new sunshine your way,
Penny

Saturday's Salutations

If you recall from my first post I had quite a scare from the dogs next door.  I still have flashbacks…

K9 Collaborators 1 and 2.

I didn’t think I’d ever be able to run around my own territory for fear of the K9 collaboration going on from The Other Side.

But there’s a time when all challenges must be met.  So I decided to face my doggie dilemma nose on!

One small step for dog, one giant leap for...ehh
pretty much just me.
Here's how the dog deliberation went down...

"Umm excuse me...doggie down here!"

"Hi! So uhh I'm Penny.  Pleased to sniff ya!"

"OK...I smell where you're comin' from..."

"How very nice to meet you kind sir."

No conspiracy after all!! Howls all around!

And then we were all..."Seriously? You like to chew stuff? Me too!!"

And then I was all "Mom, you're embarrassing me. You can go now."

Come to find out- Macy is only a year older than me!  She sure is fun to be with. And Harold? He’s just an old softie.

But you know what I really learned? Sometimes what you fear the most turns out blessing your life.

Licks and wags,

What a Week! (continued)

So many new things and so much to say!!  Let's see...where did I leave off?  Oh yeah- after I met my first Auntie and Uncle it was bed time in my new home.  I wasn't so fond of this "jail" of a bed my mom now puts me in at night, but it's growing on me.

Required place of sleep.
Desired place of sleep.

When a new day begins- I like to watch mom get ready in the bathroom. Those Humans sure do need a lot of prep time. And of course I look forward to our morning snuggle ritual before she leaves!

Here's my stompin grounds while mom's away.  I've just recently graduated to the kitchen!

Doesn't she know I'd have a lot more fun without that gate?
Life's OK while she's gone, but boy does my tail wag upon her arrival. Sometimes she even brings me a new toy!
My monkey has a nice crunch to it!
I have gotten to meet so many fun people.  Mom and Aunt Allison yipped and yapped while I played with a new ball Aunt Alli brought me.  She definitely knows the way to this pup's heart.

The the next day I got to meet Auntie Evie.  She says I need to meet her puppy pal named, Pippa! I hope she is as fun as saying that phrase was. ;)

Feeling loved!
Finally, I got to meet my Uncle Connor and Aunt Erin- it sure was fun pouncing around their pad.

Having my very own "Simba" moment

Uncle Connor is great.  I had never been that high in my life! He sure is tall...standing at a whopping 6"5' when on his hind legs. I don't know why The Humans prefer to walk around like that...so much more stability on four.

They sure can stay up late though...I was puppied out and ready for bed.

Aunt Alli giving me lovies
Mommy is always calling me her "pumpkin"
but I don't see the correlation.

UNTIL Uncle Tyler showed up!  Whoa- is he a lot of fun.  I couldn't get enough of the smell he was carrying around.

INTRIGUED!
Investigating the suspicious smell...

Well that's all for now!  Smell ya later.

Lots of licks and tail wags your way,
Penny

What a Week!

Wow! What a crazy 8 days it’s been.  Talk about life changing.  Hmm- I guess I should back up and introduce myself.  Hey there! It’s Penny.  Thought I could keep myself busy when mom’s away and paw down some of my puppy perspective.

You’ll have to excuse my embarrassing misspell-- “thoughtz”…learning the alphabet quickly proved to be hard… z and s still confuse me a bit, but I’m getting there.

Well now that that’s out of the way I guess I should catch you up on all the recent happenings! This may even take me a few days…so much as happened and these paws aren’t so helpful when typing.

It was Saturday January 12th when everything changed.  Who knew when a gal woke up in Joplin, MO she'd all the sudden wind up in Tulsa, OK staring into her mommy’s eyes!

She said it was love at first sight- I say it was love at first smell.

Everything happened so fast- one second I was hangin with the sibs and next thing I know I’m cuddled up with a baby giraffe…gotta admit I was a little scared at first, but as soon as I got introduced to the grandparents and my cousin, Molly -I knew I would fit in.

OH- and how can I forget? Meet “The Male Figure”! Isn’t he handsome? I actually got a little shy…but he ended up being a pretty good couch 'cuddler' - so he already ranks high in my book.

As soon as I was nestling nicely in Tulsa- I was whisked off to yet another new place- OKC! I'm told Thunder is a pretty big deal here…but I haven’t heard any yet.

Before leaving town I had to say goodbye to the MF...mommy did as well.  I wasn't about to be left out of the hug!

Doggie Tip: Wanna get in on a hug? Nestle
between the feet until the humans
have to pick you up!
I don't know what was so funny, saying goodbye
is serious business.

Mom wanted a picture of my first steps in the official OKC crib.  She likes to capture moments if you didn't already pick up on that...I was just left wondering why she left me on the other side of the door.

Home Sweet Home!

The new digs aren’t bad.  This is mommy’s favorite chair, so of course I had to break it in.

I even have a BIG outside area that brings lots of interesting smells and sounds! Well…I would like it except I heard a super scary bark from two dogs next door and I don’t know how I’m ever going to explore it with those big beasts staring and howling at me.

Who knows what these two are capable of!
Luckily, not long after the scare- my Auntie Erin and Uncle Jeff came to visit!  Bow. WOW. Talk about some good smelling Humans.

Well- the paws are wearing down and I’ve gotta bone to chew.

Lots of licks and tail wags your way,
Penny
